First Day
Walking to the bus stop. (That isn't his bus in the background...but doesn't it add a nice touch. =)Wyatt's first day of Kindergarten was today. He was so excited, so I tried not to show how nervous I was. It's is a long time to be without my boy. I have so many worries, and I know he will be fine, but it is a sad time for me. He is growing up so quickly. Too quickly.
He left the house in the happiest mood, and yelled back to Lincoln, "I will come home and tell you all about it."
I took this picture, and then the bus drove away. We waved and waved back to him. We started walking home, and I was fighting back tears. I started looking at the images on the back of my camera, and zoomed in on the photo above. He is signing "I love you," which is something he has done his whole life. As a baby he would hold up his pointy finger, as a two year old his thumb joined in, as a three year old he would hold the two folded fingers down with the opposite hand, and as a four year old he finally got it. His current thing is "Double I love yous", the two handed version. Well, after I saw this I started to bawl. Talia asked me if I was okay, and if my tummy hurt. =) We hopped in the car and followed the bus to the school, and they had a little hoorah for the kids as they marched into the school. The boy in front of Wyatt had Transformer shoes on, and I saw the beginnings of a friendship!
After he got off the bus, I got the eyes closed-squish you-hold for a long time-hug. I almost thought something was wrong, and expected tears. There were no tears he just missed me that much. I think he looks a little tired in this picture. He told us all about his day when he walked in the door. I think it was a very good first day at Kindergarten.

You amaze me Jeri, even your first day of school pics are amazing! I can't believe how gorgous they are and the bus in the back ground. Ah, there is no wonder why I think the world of you! :-) I am glad that he had a good first day! You did well at the little hoorah, not to bawl like that other lady :-) He he.
I am thrilled that "Little Lincoln" had a great first day of kindergarten. I love that he was signing "I love you" through the window. What a sweet boy.
Awww, the moments I wanted to have today. But it's just so YOU to have the wonderful pictures and the signing of I love you and everything! What a sweet boy. Good luck with your tears. I guess I didn't cry because I was crazy and also because it's Jeffy's 5th year riding a bus!!! HA!
That I Love You sign picture is just heart melting!! What a sweetheart your Wyatt is!! Glad his 1st day was good! Oh and amazing pics as always!!! :)
congratulations, jeri! and wyatt! i'm so glad he had a great first day. and his signing i love you made me cry, too, so it's only natural it would get to you. :)
So I remember meeting you at Alicia's house for the first time and you were pregnant with Natalia and Wyatt was this fun little imp, the only boy in a room full of girls. And now he's in Kindergarten! Time flies.
I'm feeling all tender - that sign was so sweet. I really liked the off-the-bus picture.
You told me about the "I love you" picture but it is so cool to see it! :)
Your kids are so cute! Glad everything went well. Love the pictures but you do take great photos always! I thought it was so cute that he signed I love you.
Very cute pictures! You are such a sweet mommy! I loved your story about the "I love you" in the window. I don't think my kids even know the hand sign for that! (:
Maybe Alec would've smiled for me if you had taken his picture! Cute pics!
Yes, a good beginning. They are so much more ready for it than we are.
