otolaryngologist
We took Natalia to the otolaryngologist yesterday to have yet another doctor look at the bump on her neck. He was not too worried about it and doesn't want to remove the whole thing. It goes up her neck and is possibly attached to muscle, and he is the first one to say he thinks it goes down towards her breast bone as well. He plans to remove just the part that is visible. She'll be trading a bump for a scar, but he said he would try to make it as small as possible. He doesn't think it is a brachial cleft cyst like we have been told in the past, but just cartilage that formed while she was growing. Then he said it is our choice when to do the surgery. I wish he would have just said, "How about June, does that work?" There are so many things to consider now; Healing time, when Lincoln will be out of town, pre-school this fall, a new baby that takes a lot of my time, and I am so scared for her, etc. I guess, I should just pray about it.

Definately pray about it, then pick a date and everything will just work around that date. In my experience, there's never a 'perfect' time for anything, we just have to adjust to what's going on at the time! And some how it all works out. Let me know if I can help you out at all!
Sounds like removing just the part you see is so much less invasive. Doesn't seem like it will be nearly as scary
Natalia, You are going to be okay sweetie. I'm happy the doctors can take care of you. Don't be afraid of hospitals. Uncle Mike had to be there for a long time, and they aren't so bad. I'll ask Heavenly Father to take care of you in my prayers.
Love you, bug
Uncle Mike
What a relief the doctor doesn't think it is something more serious. Here's a prayer it all goes smoothly...
Wow, I have never even heard of that specialist before! But I'm glad it sounds like a less-invasive surgery. Let me know if I can help in any way - babysitting or anything!
Oh, I see! It's good to know it's not dangerous though. Good luck.
I know you guys have been worried about that ever since Talia was tiny. I hope it all goes ok and Lincoln won't have to worry about what she looks like in her prom dress.
Jeri,
I had a bump on my neck when I was 3 years old! I had mine removed and still have a scar, but I don't mind it much at all! I had to have mine taken off because it was growing into the tissue and really painful. Natalia's looks more on the surface which is a good sign! I hope everything works out alright!
