Wacky

Today was Wacky Wednesday. This is how I sent my son to school. As I watched him walking down the street I was laughing and scared. He looked...well....kind of rebellious. I told him, "Just because you have crazy hair doesn't mean you can have crazy behavior."
The sweet boy with the mohawk said, "I know , Mom."

He had some other fun wacky people in his class, but he said he was the craziest. His teacher sounded pretty wacky to me though....different socks, different shoes, and a single pigtail.
My whole day was wacky. First, I had primary meeting. I wasn't going to go because Simone's nose was so disgusting. I was wiping it every 5 minutes. I didn't want to go and make everyone sick. I was told, "it's okay with me if you come"...so I went. I told them I was going to be late. I had to get the house ready to show JUST IN CASE someone came to see it in the 2 hours I would be gone--on a Wednesday. I had enough time for cleaning or a shower. I chose cleaning, and I am so thankful that I did. As soon as I got to the meeting Lincoln called and told me there was a showing scheduled in 30 minutes. I almost cried. I was so close to leaving the dishes in the sink, not making the beds, and leaving a huge pile of cardboard from a photo order on the kitchen floor.
We had another showing in the evening. I took the kids to Costco. We had to get Cy a new dog bed, and garbage bags. I had Simone in the baby bjorn, Talia wanted to ride in the cart, and Wyatt walked with me. By this time the Mohawk had died, in case you were wondering. =) We got a sample of spinach ravioli with pesto sauce and as we slowly walked away Talia said, "Mom, is that a boy or a girl?" She was talking about the woman (I think) that had just prepared our samples. She didn't say it quietly either. All I could say in a barely audible whisper was, "Don't say that so loud. You will hurt her feelings." I don't know what else to say about that....geez.
Then....no that deserves a THEN!!.....We got home and the kids played in the basement while I folded laundry. Talia was dancing around, and she asked me to help her with a back bend. I told her to push her arms up and get her head off the ground. She told me that it hurt her neck. She has been complaining of a sore neck for a few days. Every time I touch it, or Wyatt is too rough, or if I dry her hair with a towel too hard she would complain. I thought she had a crick in her neck from a nap without a pillow. Then I saw it. A lump. Lump doesn't describe it. Humongo mass should I take her to the emergency room??!!!----there, that describes it. It is under her jaw (lymph node) and is swollen clear up behind her ear. It is about 2.5 inches long and rock hard. Scary. I called my pediatrician, my Mom, and Christie's husband, Dr. Brent. They were on there way home so they made a stop here. He felt it, and looked at her throat. He told me to watch her tonight, and take her to the doctor tomorrow. He called it a raging lymph node. =) I should mention that I feel the worst sore throat coming on, and Wyatt has had one for a few days. It wasn't Simone that should have stayed away from the primary meeting.
Wacky day.

I love his hair!!! the boys will get a kick out of this picture =) since k is so picky about his "crazy hair" we have hair glue. It literally glues the hair in place all day!
I love the no crazy behavior - I'll have to quote you =)
Today at lunch K came up with a plan for you and "all your kids" to come over to our house to watch the kids. He was so happy about his plan- we'll have to do a play date soon!
What a crazy day! I like the pictures of your handsome boy! Justin's school had crazy hair day last week and he said "No way am I doing THAT!" But then, he wouldn't do pajama day, either. That's no fun for mom! Oh well. Wyatt is a good sport! I hope you ALL feel better very soon!
Jeri, Natalia is you. You used to get lymph nodes like that. Try to think of it this way--swollen lymph nodes aren't a problem, only a sign that the body is fighting infection. It is a warning to start preparing defenses, if it's not too late. Be glad you caught her this early.
Oh Wyatt, cool hair. You rawk.
Great hair! Is Natalia ok? I hope you are all feeling better soon. We move in 2 days, and Brian just through out his back yesterday, trying to get 'a head start' on the moving thing. I kept telling him to wait until Sat. there will be plenty of help....I'm trying not to say 'I told you so'. With that and a broken 'new' washer, crazy painting, and buyers who wanted to walk through my boxed up house yesterday, I guess we participated in Wacky Day as well with out realizing it!
I love his hair.. see you grew it out for a reason. It would have been a really weak doo if you didn't have it so nice and long!! Sorry you're all sick. when do you suppose you will all be well again?
aww geez! that is an insane day! i ADORE those pictures of Wyatt!!! he is so handsome ;)
and poor Natalia! I have dealt with those bulging rock hard lymph nodes before, so i knew exactly what it was going to be ;)
did they put her on an antibiotic?
Her doctor put her on antibiotics and measured it. It was almost 3 inches!! I have never seen a lymph node like that, and I get really big ones. Her doctor has seen a few kids come in with similar ones, but she is having us coming tomorrow to make sure it is getting smaller. She is acting just fine....noisy as ever. =)
wow---how SCARY---i bet you were freaked. Glad she is being noisy as ever..lol
COOL HAIR wyatt...:) I bet you were the "talk" of the school with the coolest ever hair.
so any bites on your house???
im getting REALLY tired of cleaning every day...:(
oh no! i've never seen a raging lymph node, but it doesn't sound fun. hope you're ALL feeling better!
and i love the wacky hair. :)
